Dear Parents and Carers

We have had a fun-filled week at Palm Bay!

Our dear friend Mr O’Sullivan visited the school this week to lead our WWII re-enactment days with Year 6. Well done to the children for their brilliant, authentic costumes. They had a wonderful time learning about life in 1940s war-time Britain, which led to some very thoughtful writing later in the week.

Year 1 have been busy creating dinosaur skeletons for their topic work and Years 3 and 4 have been doing lots of Reading for Pleasure – I have enjoyed their book recommendations and was invited to Wagtails class to see their new, re-vamped book corner. Year 5 have written wonderful stories for their Scream Machine topic and Year 2 have learned to accurately tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Parent workshops on Phon-ics and Key Stage 1 Maths. We had lots of positive feedback about our interactive Maths workshop and will endeavour to organise more events like this in the future.

Finally, if anyone has any unwanted cushions, beanbags, rugs or blankets, we would very much appreciate your donations for our book corners. This year we are trying to provide comfortable, snuggly spaces for reading at school, so anything you could spare would be gratefully received.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Williams

Head Teacher
