Dear Parents and Carers

As we near the end of term, the children have been busily en-gaged in all sorts of exciting learning activities and celebrations.

On Monday the whole school were treated to an assembly from staff at Margate Caves – they learned about the history of this interesting network of underground passages and rooms as well as the famous Shell Grotto. Jackdaws class spent the whole day at the Turner Contemporary on Wednesday and Year 5 visited the Walpole Bay Hotel museum to look at historical artefacts for their ‘Time Traveller’ topic.

Year 6 have had an extremely busy week! They performed their wonderful production – Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits – to staff, pupils and their families. It was a thoroughly professional produc-tion, with first class acting, singing and choreography, as well as great costumes, props and set design. All the children and staff worked very hard to rehearse and prepare for the show and I am very proud of them all. It came to my attention that there were some problems with the allocation of tickets for the evening show and I apologise if this affected you. We were pleased not to charge for the tickets this year, enabling free tickets for Parents and Carers but we understand that some of you were keen for extra tickets and we will take your feedback on board for future productions to avoid future disappointment.

Next week we have the Early Years Teddy Bears’ Picnic and races on Wednesday afternoon and Year 6’s Black and White Ball on Thursday evening. We will also have Topic Landings for years 1, 2 and 3 on Tuesday and Years 4 and 5 on Thursday. The times of these vary from year group to year group and you should have received details from your child’s class teacher.

This afternoon is our annual PTFA Summer Picnic. I do hope that many of you will join us there and even participate in our talent show…

Have a lovely weekend

Best wishes,

Miss Williams

Head Teacher
