Religious Education Curriculum Overview

At Palm Bay we believe that it is important to provide children with a contemporary study of religion, preparing children for later life. Children at Palm Bay are educated about the different religions of the world and respect, tolerance and understanding for the beliefs of others will be promoted as an integral part of our programme.

The RE curriculum is designed so that by the time children leave in year 6, they have a solid grasp of the religions of the world and the key religious festivals. Every year group studies a different religion during a special RE day at the end of each term. Children also have the opportunity to learn about different religions during special RE assemblies and also in a cross-curricular way.

We like to use our local community to help educate children about religion and children have the opportunity to visit places of worship and also to listen to guest speakers in school.
