Religious education overview

At Palm Bay we believe that it is important to provide children with a contemporary study of religion, preparing children for later life. Children at Palm Bay are educated about the different religions of the world and respect, tolerance and understanding for the beliefs of others are promoted as an integral part of our programme.

We follow the themes and ideas set out in Cornerstones Love to Celebrate programme. The structure ensures that by the time children leave in year 6, they have a solid grasp of the religions of the world and the key religious festivals. The children learn about a different religion each term during a special RE day at the end of each term. Children also have the opportunity to learn about different religions during special RE assemblies.

We like to use our local community to help educate children about religion and children have the opportunity both to visit places of worship and to listen to guest speakers in school.

The religions covered are Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism and Judaism.
